What to expect on the day of your solar installation

Whether you’re still deciding on whether it’s time to go solar or you have finally bit the bullet and gone ahead and purchased your system, here is what you can expect on the day of your installation:

•    A normal solar installation should take around half to three-quarters of the day to install (dependant on the complexity of the install). At Termico Solar Generation our installers arrive between 7-9am to begin the installation.

•    We ask if you can be home when the installers arrive, this is so that they can go through the proposed layout/inverter location.

•     If you do need to leave for whatever reason during the installation, then please let our installers know and they can organise for you to sign the small-scale technology certificate (STC) assignment form. This form must be completed by the owner so that we can claim the government rebate on your behalf. Please note that the government rebate discount will have been applied to your bill and discussed with you during the sale of your new solar system. While we apply the discount upfront to all our solar systems, this form allows us to then seek repayment for this from the government.

•    Due to Worksafe requirements, your power will need to be turned off while the installers enter your roof space. Don’t worry – it won’t be off for long. Normally we require the power to be turned off around 60 minutes.

•    Please have your Wi-Fi password handy if you do wish to monitor your system performance (Termico Solar Generation will send through login details after the installation).

•    If you have a tiled roof, we ask that you have at least 15 spare tiles on site on the day of the installation. Despite our best efforts, it is inevitable the installers will break some tiles on the day. If all spare tiles get used, we will let you know at the end of the installation and our installers will silicone the remaining broken tiles and move them as close to the gutter line as possible so that they are easily accessible to replace.

Other Useful Information:

•    For the safety of our installers, wet weather may cause delays. In these instances they will install as much as they can and come back to complete the installation as soon as possible when the wet weather has cleared.

•    Our CEC accredited installers are legally required to install your panels in the most efficient way possible. In occasional circumstances, it may mean that the size of your system will change, if we are not able to install the panels as per our proposed layout. If any changed occur, Termico Solar Generation will discuss with you on the day of installation.

•    Installation of a solar system to a double storey property may require cabling to be run through an external conduit to enable the panels to be connected to the inverter.
